Sigma’s stones come in a wide range of grits, and have economical, mid level, and premium level stones to suite any budget. Stone sizes are 1″x4″x 6mm and will fit into any KME Sharpener and the Wicked Edge Uni Stone Holder Paddles. They can also be used a field stones, slip stones, and even slurry stones. The 1×4 Sigma Power Select II Stone for KME Sharpener is one of the top tier Japanese water stone series. It’s unique blend of grits, materials, and stone formulations sets them apart from other stone series. The series starts off like more traditional Japanese stones, offers two different styled stones for 1K and 1200 grits, and then transitions into magnesia based stones for polishing. These stones are are 1″x4″x 6mm and will fit into any KME Sharpener, and can also be used a field stones, slip stones, and even slurry stones. They are used with water only and work best when soaked in water for a minute or two before use. Store in a dry place in between use. We recommend using the Jende 2 sided Glass Lapping Plate or the Jende Diamond Lapping Plate to keep these stones flat and clean. 240 Grit: This stone is Green Silicone Carbide abrasive , and is formulated like a traditional low grit stone that is ideal for hard steel and laminated steel blades. 400 Grit: This stone is Aluminum Oxide abrasive, and formulated with a magnesia based matrix, making it aggressive, yet smooth feeling. 1K Grit: This stone is Black Silicone Carbide, and is formulated like a traditional stone that gives a more natural stone finish and refinement to an edge as the abrasive breaks down and mixes with any abraded blade steel. 1200 Grit: This stone is Aluminum Oxide abrasive, and its more modern formulation makes the stone cut fast while leaving a very standard working edge on softer steels and non laminated steels. 3K Grit: This stone is Aluminum Oxide abrasive, and formulated with a magnesia based matrix that leaves a basic mirror polish. 6K, 10K & 13K Grits: These stones are all Aluminum Oxide abrasive, and formulated with a magnesia based matrixes, each designed to leave a sharper, brighter and smoother mirror polish.
