Wicked Edge Stone Pack – Chosera 1K-3K Grit. The 1K/3K Grit Chosera water stone pack for the Wicked Edge is a universal maintenance and sharpening set for most sharpening needs, especially kitchen knives. The 1,000 grit stone is a universal grit that can maintain and handle light repairs and profiling while leaving a basic working sharp edge. The 3K puts a light mirror polish edge that isa step above what most knives and tools are used to. Stones are approx 5 – 5.5mm thick and come mounted to standard Wicked Edge style paddles. Stones are used with water only. 1,000 Grit Chosera is a medium grit stone that can be used to clean up scratches from earlier grits and diamond plates, do minor repairs and profiling, as well as for quick touching up and maintenance. It is the universally accepted standard grit level for a working sharp edge. 3,000 Grit Chosera is a medium/fine grit stone that is used for routine touchups, and leaves a highly refined edge and a light mirror polish. It also sets the stage for further refinement, stropping, and polishing of the edge. Chosera stones do wear, and we recommend using a glass lapping plate or a diamond lapping plate to maintain the stones flatness over time. Due to the varying stone thicknesses over time and use, we also recommend using the WE Paddle Non-Magnetic Stone Adapter to guarantee accurate angles. All paddles are compatible with the Rack-Its custom Wicked Edge Paddle Stands.
