1×4 Professional Atoma Diamond Plate – For KME Sharpener, and come in 4 grits: 140, 400, 600, and 1,200. These plates use clusters of diamonds arranged in a very precise pattern. As a result, they cut faster, last longer and leave a more consistent finish at each grit level. The 1×4 Atoma diamond plates are secured to a standard 5mm thick aluminum blank which is compatible with any standard KME Sharpener stone holder and with the Wicked Edge Uni Stone Holder Paddles. These can also be used as slip stones, field stones and pocket stones. The Atoma Diamond plates can be used either dry or with water, offering flexibility based on personal preference and specific needs. Hacks and Tips: If sharpening with water, a cleaner surface will cut faster than one with a lot of swarf. If sharpening dry, clean stones will cut faster, but loaded stones will leave a slightly more refined finish. When using the 140 grit for major repairs, alternate the direction of the scratch between straight and askew to get more cutting power. We recommend using the 1×4 Jende Diamond Resin Stones or the 1×4 Jende Diamond Films to continue an all diamond progression.
