The Naniwa Chosera water stones are among the highest quality Chosera sharpening stones on the market, renowned for their precise grit and quality manufacturing, these stones offer swift cutting and polishing abilities, providing a remarkable feel and feedback during use. 8 Grits Available in three categories: Coarse, Medium, and Fine. The Coarse grits (#400, #600, #800) excel in aggressive stock removal, repairs, and (re)profiling. They eliminate deeper scratches left by diamond plates, abrasive belts, and coarser stones. The coarse grits are generally not used as a final grit, and are used primarily to set up an edge for medium grit stones. The Medium grits (#800, #1,000, #2,000, #3,000) maintain and refine edges to a practical sharpness and as a final grit stone for work sharp edges. Medium grits are often used as stepping stones to prepare edge for finer grit polishing stones. The Fine grits (#3,000, #5,000, #10,000) elevate edges to a mirror-like finish and exceptional sharpness. The fine grits are used only for polishing and very light upkeep, and are not intended for serious maintenance and repairs. They can be used as preparation grits for finer grit stones and polishing strops. Each 1″ x 6″ x 5mm stones is mounted to a standard steel blank and is compatible with the Jende JIGS for Knives, Edge Pro, Hapstone, TSProf sharpeners, and with the Wicked Edge Uni Stone Holder Paddles. For optimal results, soak the stones in water for a minute or two before usage. Keep hydrated during use. Afterward, allow them to air dry and store them dry when not in use. Regularly lap the stones on a Jende Glass Lapping Plate or a Jende Diamond Lapping Plate to maintain a clean, flat surface over time.
